RIDE SUMMARY

A nice ride for those who enjoy a combination of sweepy turns and long straight stretches. The road is well signed, giving a rider ample time to set up for the changed condition that lies ahead.

It is a nice scenic backroad that eventually winds up intersecting with Calistoga Road, a.k.a. Petrified Forest Road. A common road for travelers and commuters.

Commercial trucks and farm vehicles are also likely to be present.  Getting the true enjoyment out of this road depends a lot on the time and the day, you choose to ride it.

There are some roads that intersect with Porter Creek Road.  Watch for cross traffic entering, or crossing your lane. Rock and other hillside debris are often found on the road.
