RIDE SUMMARY

This is a pleasant road to take when you are heading towards St. Helena coming from Bennett Valley.  This road is only 3.8 miles long, but its shady trees and pictorial landscapes turns it into a nice laid back scenic ride.  The important thing to remember about this road has to do mainly with traction. Year round, there is hillside debris that builds up alongside the road that has a tendency of spreading into the lanes.

Be aware of wildlife in the area that could suddenly cross the road.

Spring Mountain Road is a quiet road, but it would be no surprise to see an occasional commercial vehicle, or a tour bus using it.  As you approach the town of St Helena you will pass through a residential area and school zone.

Be cautious of vehicles exiting driveways, and cars parked along the street opening their doors.
